How often will a troop meet?
Answer
Troop meeting schedules depend on each troop's preferences. Meeting days and times are usually chosen based on what works best for the troop leaders and the families in the troop. Usually, young troops (elementary age) meet twice a month, once to do a badge and a second time for a field trip. Older troops (middle and high school age) usually meet once a month.
Question
How do I form a troop in the Oak Hill area?

Question
How many troop leaders can there be in a troop?
Answer
Usually there is at least one troop leader who acts as the main troop communicator to the Girl Scouts and their corresponding families, but it is strongly recommended that there are at least two leaders a.k.a. co-leaders for each troop.
Question
How many girls do I need to form a troop?
Answer

Question
What types of leadership roles are there in a troop?
Answer

Question
What type of training do I need to be a Girl Scout leader?
Answer
GSCTX and GS USA have virtual training videos that will walk you through the steps of being a GS leader, e.g. 578 Essentials of Girl Scout Leaders. Local leaders and volunteers meet monthly to pass on information and to help new leaders with anything they might need.
Question
Why do I need a troop treasurer?
Answer
A troop treasurer is required to help manage the troop ledger and bank account. The primary leader cannot be the troop treasurer due to financial fiduciary reasons.
